Our February started with a fantastic opportunity to connect with aspiring legal professionals. We were privileged to be invited by the Nottinghamshire Law Society to join a panel talk alongside The Law Society and Nottingham Law School.

The Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Division (NJLD) is back in full swing after a phenomenal 2024! From networking nights to career-boosting talks, last year was packed with incredible events – and we’re just getting started for 2025!

Becoming a newly qualified solicitor, or barrister, marks a significant milestone in one's legal career. To honour this achievement, the NLS hosted a reception offering newly qualified solicitors a warm welcome into the professional community.

Members of the Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Division came together on Friday 22nd November for their elegant Winter Ball held at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. The event had a Winter Wonderland theme and everyone certainly sparkled! . I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to share with you what we’ve been up to in the last month and what’s coming up next. It’s been a fun and busy time for all of us at the NJLD.

As we had towards autumn, NJLD has been buzzing with activity. In recent weeks, our members have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of events, ranging from social gatherings to professional development opportunities. Here’s a brief overview of what we’ve been up to and what’s on the calendar for the near future.

NJLD have had a big summer! It’s been a pleasure to see so many members joining us. As a reminder membership came up for renewal at the start of September!

Having reached the half way point of the year it was a great time to reflect on how much we have achieved in the past 6 months, but also how much we have to look forward to. In June, we got together at the Kilpin to watch the football for the Euros, enjoying a great performance for Denmark v England. We also had our first ever “NJLD Do Park Run” event. Despite the rain we still had a reasonable turn out of dedicated runners. Have a look for our Strava page, and join us for our next excursion!

May appears to have been a quiet month for the Nottingham Junior Lawyers Division however we have been busy behind the scenes planning plenty of events for the second half of the year – where has the first half gone!. We cannot wait to reveal what we have planned for the remainder of the year but for now we can confirm the following events that are taking place.

April was a fab month again for the Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Committee, with some great events and lots of hard work going into planning upcoming events. Looking back.... We kicked off with the famous Football tournament and I am proud to say that Browne Jacobson came out top, with Smith Cooper coming a close second. It definitely got the rivalries going and should hopefully get you in the mood for our upcoming sports day and rounders tournament.

Reflecting on the first quarter of 2024, we are really proud of what we have achieved! The NJLD committee have worked hard to put some great events on, and to get things in motion for a great 2024.   We ended March with an evening of networking and socialising.  We set off from Revs de Cuba, calling in at BOX and Bunk, among others.  It was great to see so many people out and about, seeing old and new faces.
