Ella is a Solicitor at Browne Jacobson in the Public Law team and Chair for the 2024 NJLD Committee, having previously served as secretary last year.
Ella has enjoyed seeing growth of the NJLD and is looking to continue this for the benefit of junior lawyers throughout Nottingham.
Outside of law, Ella enjoys running, travelling and eating good food.

Stuart, a longstanding committee member of the NJLD, is an Associate Solicitor at Nelsons in the Private Litigation team.
Stuart now sits as Vice Chair and is excited to continue providing social events to encourage more relaxed networking opportunities amongst Nottingham's junior professionals.
Stuart promises to continue giving the fans what they want by delivering the highly praised 'Wind Down Wednesdays'.
Outside of being a lawyer he enjoys visiting local pubs and bars and will regularly arrange trips with members to share his knowledge.
Stuart also enjoys racing and plans to leave the profession to take the Mercedes Formula 1 seat pending Lewis Hamilton’s retirement.

Katie is a Trainee Solicitor in the Court of Protection team at MJC Law, she commenced her Training Contract in September 2023.
She has been a member of the NJLD for a number of years and is now excited to commence her first year on the NJLD Committee as Secretary. She completed both her undergraduate and LPC LLM degrees at Nottingham Trent University.
After work, Katie regularly goes swimming and does Tae Kwon Do ITF and enjoys competing at events for both sports. In her spare time, Katie enjoys going for long walks, baking and learning languages.
Joseph Collis

Joe is a paralegal in the commercial litigation team at Nelsons Solicitors. He graduated from Keele University with a degree in law and is currently studying part-time for his LPC at Nottingham Trent.
After a year of being active at junior lawyer events, this is Joe’s first year on the committee. He is looking forward to supporting the NJLD’s members and attending what he is sure will be a year of great events. Please get in contact if you have any membership enquiries!
Outside of work Joe enjoys running, badminton, and frequenting any bar with decent cocktails or ale.

Ka Man is a Corporate and Commercial Associate at Browne Jacobson. This is Ka Man's third year on the committee, previously serving as Treasurer last year and Sports Secretary in 2022, where it was great to welcome all in-person events and friendly competition!
Ka Man enjoys snacks, playing netball and going to the gym and looks forward to budgeting for more events in 2024. Do get in touch if you have any suggestions.

I studied Law with Business at Nottingham Trent University, and I graduated in 2022. I joined Browne Jacobson in August 2023, and I am a first seat trainee in the Health Advisory and Inquest team.
I am joining the committee as the National Representative of the NJLD, and I am excited to help highlight on a national scale all of the hard work we are putting in and the successes that we are seeing. At the same time, I will always be looking for events and ideas that other JLD’s are doing well that we can incorporate ourselves.
Outside of work I enjoy running, eating lots of food, shopping and saying I am going to the gym when really, I am only going to the sauna and steam room.
Rosie Byrne

Rosie is a trainee solicitor at Shoosmiths in the Nottingham office, having started in September 2023. This is her first year on the NJLD Committee, having been a member and attending several events since September. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in History in 2021, and then completed her GDL and LPC LLM at the University of East Anglia and the University of Law, respectively.
Outside of work, Rosie likes playing netball, going to the gym, and spending time with friends and family. She likes to ski in the winter and play tennis in the summer.

Shannon is a Corporate Solicitor at Austin Moore & Partners specialising in mergers and acquisitions, investments and general corporate matters. She relocated from her home county in the South East in 2019 to call the East Midlands home and hasn’t turned back since!
After attending numerous events over the years Shannon is excited to join the Marketing Team on the Committee to become more involved in the work of the NJLD and its members.
Shannon is looking forward to working alongside Rosie and Kelsey to connect with members and Nottingham juniors through the marketing role.
Outside of work Shannon enjoys building on her ever-expanding home library (she might never finish reading the books), crafting and being forced to go for hikes in the Peak District by her husband.
Kelsey Richardson

Kelsey is a paralegal at Browne Jacobson, specialising in Court of Protection, and will commence her training contract with the firm in February 2024. Having previously been events representative on the 2023 committee, she will be taking on a marketing role to promote NJLD and our events this year on socials.
Outside of work, she is glued to her kindle, loves to cook and will send you 20 photos of her bulldog, Norman, if prompted (avoid prompting).

Ella is a Legal Assistant at Freeths LLP in the Private Client Dispute Resolution team, and she will be starting as a Trainee Solicitor in March 2024. This is Ella’s first year on the NJLD Committee as a Ball Secretary, and she will be working with her colleague, Emily Graham, to organise the Summer Soiree and Winter Ball.
Ella is looking forward to organising these events so that NJLD members can meet other like-minded individuals and enjoy a fun evening away from their desk!
Outside of work, Ella enjoys attending festivals, going to the gym, and spending time with friends.

Emily is a Trainee Solicitor Apprentice at Freeths LLP in the Trusts, Estates and Tax team. She joined the firm in 2019 and is completing her Solicitor Apprenticeship with the University of Law. Emily has been a member of NJLD for two years and has thoroughly enjoyed attending their events and socialising with other junior professionals in Nottingham.
This will be Emily’s first year on the committee, and she is looking forward to organising their main events, the Summer Soiree and Winter Ball this year alongside Ella Bremner.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her friends and family, charity shopping and attending her yoga classes!

Aaron is Legal Counsel at Blue Light Card and a former Vice Chair of the NJLD. He is returning to the NJLD committee in the newly created In-House Representative role. Aaron has re-joined the committee to help promote working in-house and connecting local in-house legal professionals to the NJLD.
Outside of the NJLD he enjoys his sports, including football and cricket. He is also involved in the Nottinghamshire Law Society, as the cricket team's captain.
He is looking forward to meeting everyone and getting involved in all the exciting events coming up!

Lara is a paralegal in the Commercial Property team at Roythornes Solicitors, and will be starting as a trainee solicitor in September 2024.
Lara graduated at Nottingham Trent University in 2022 and is currently studying her LPC there part-time, completing her studies in the summer of 2024. It is Lara’s first time on the committee, but she is really excited to be the link between NJLD and students.
Outside of work, Lara spends her time looking after her horse and dogs, as well as reading and taking part in Pilates classes.
Jack Stuart

Jack is a Barrister at Ropewalk Chambers, having joined Chambers as a pupil in 2022 and as a tenant in 2023. Jack completed his law conversion and BPTC at Nottingham Law School and has thereafter enjoyed being a member of the NJLD whilst growing his practice at the Bar. He is excited to see the link between the local Bar and local junior lawyers continue to grow.
Outside work, Jack enjoys walks in the countryside, going to the theatre and travelling, having spent a year living and working in Germany.
