Nottingham PRIDE 2025 – A Celebration of Unity and Inclusion
On 26th July, we proudly came together to celebrate Nottingham PRIDE – a vibrant event that champions diversity, equality, and inclusivity across Nottinghamshire. This year’s turnout was fantastic, with a colourful and energetic parade that brought the city to life. The atmosphere was electric, and the sense of unity truly unforgettable.
A large and enthusiastic group marched behind the Nottinghamshire Law Society banner, fuelled by delicious breakfast baps generously provided by Browne Jacobson. We were once again joined by the Alliance Network, and this year’s event was proudly sponsored by Freeths, Landsmiths Solicitors, Ropewalk Chambers, and Rothera Bray.
Among those representing the Society were President Marie Dancer, Deputy Vice President Aldijana Hoad, and ED&I Co-Chairs Elliot Bedwell-Mintz and Sarah Singh, all proudly taking part in the march and showing their support.
Post-walk drinks were enjoyed at the finishing point – the Fox & Grapes in Sneinton – providing a perfect end to a day filled with celebration and solidarity.
Shared Experiences of the day
ED&I Co-Chair Sarah Singh:
"It was such an amazing, vibrant event of solidarity and celebration with the Nottinghamshire LGBTQI+ community.
I attended Pride with my colleague Eleanor and her two girls, Kaia and Ayla, who fully embraced their make-up and glitter duties to ensure we were properly dressed for the march! It was an absolutely awesome day; the first time I have actually been able to get to the Nottingham Pride event. There was a palpable sense of being part of something vitally important, much bigger than you, particularly in these challenging times where hard-won rights are too often at risk and there is still so much to do to achieve genuine equality for all. It felt so good to be able to be there, to stand together, and to offer our allyship and support".
Lou Silver from Freeths LLP:
"At a time when rights and protections for LGBTQ+ people don’t feel anywhere near as certain as a few years ago, coming together in celebration and solidarity felt more important than ever. It was a great day, and we were delighted to be able to join with other law firms to show a united, impactful presence – as individuals, as allies, as a firm and as a sector."
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success. Special thanks to Lee Collishaw (Ropewalk Chambers) and Hannah Collins (Browne Jacobson) for their outstanding support and coordination.
