Past Presidents' Lunch 2023

The annual luncheon gathering of the Society's former presidents takes place on the initial Friday of December at the revered Trent Bridge Cricket Club. This year, a total of twenty previous presidents came together to reminisce about the past years and receive updates on the Society from the Immediate Past President, Janine McKinney.

Janine warmly welcomed everyone to the luncheon and shared her memorable experiences during her presidency in 2022. The tables were adorned with a festive theme, and each guest received an oak tree decoration and praline chocolate as a symbol of Janine's planting of an oak sapling from Sherwood Forest's Major Oak. This act was part of the late Queen's Green Canopy project, which aimed to celebrate the platinum jubilee. In February 2022, Janine planted the sapling in a newly designated forest in the county. To commemorate this event, an engraved tree plaque was presented to Janine, which she will place at the tree during her next visit.

The luncheon welcomed Stephen Luke, the current president, as he joined for the first time. Alongside, there were birthday celebrations for Jason Waghorne and Rupert Bear.
