John Pearce Quiz 2024

The Southbank Bar welcomed the legal community of Nottinghamshire for the 2024 John Pearce Quiz, held on Wednesday 20th March. This quiz is a highly anticipated event in the Society's social calendar, and this year it was a full house with over 30 and 140 plus participants in attendance!

The reigning champions from 2023, known as 'The Bootleg Mark Chapmans' from VHS Fletchers, were in charge of creating questions for the 10 rounds, covering various topics like music, general knowledge, history, judges, as well as the favourite picture rounds. Leading the team was Jim Buckley, along with teammates Jon Hullis, Danielle Lunn and Freddie Sail.

As the winners of the 2023 quiz, 'The Bootleg Mark Chapmen' team selected local charity, Emmanuel House as the charity for 2024. Generous raffle prizes were contributed by Nottinghamshire Law Society, Paul Smith Designs, Cockett Farm Shooting Ground, Copper, Bar Iberico, and Lydia Clare Hairdressing. Following 10 intense rounds of quizzing, challenging participants' legal knowledge and general trivia, the victorious team, 'The Low Society' from Ropewalk Chambers, were announced by the Society's President, Stephen Luke and John Pearce. John Pearce, the founder of the Quiz over 28 years ago, was present to award the winning team.

The competition was fierce among the top 3 teams, but ultimately, 'The Low Society' from Ropewalk Chambers emerged as the champions. A special thanks to the Southbank Bar for their outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and delicious buffet spread!

Thank you also to Jay Glenn Photography for capturing all the teams and excitement of the evening.
