Future Proof Private Client & Family Law Festival - June 2026

Future Proof Festival a Great Success at Binks Yard

On Thursday 4th June, Nottinghamshire Law Society proudly hosted its first-ever Future Proof Festival — a dynamic, forward-thinking event dedicated entirely to private client practice. Held at the vibrant Binks Yard venue, the festival brought together legal professionals, experts, and exhibitors for a day of insight, collaboration, and innovation.

With the generous support of our event sponsors — Actons Solicitors, Cowens Group, and Currency Connect — the festival delivered a packed and engaging programme. The agenda explored key topics shaping the future of private client work, including probate, inheritance tax planning, governance, modernising wills, and nuptial agreements. Sessions were designed to be both informative and accessible, offering practical takeaways alongside thought-provoking discussion.

The event was extremely well attended, reflecting the growing appetite within the profession for opportunities to share knowledge, challenge traditional approaches, and explore emerging trends. In addition to the expert-led sessions, the festival format created space for meaningful networking, allowing delegates, sponsors, and exhibitors to connect throughout the day in a relaxed and informal setting.

Feedback following the event has been overwhelmingly positive. Delegates praised the quality and relevance of the content, while sponsors and exhibitors highlighted the value of engaging directly with professionals in a collaborative environment.

A special thank you must be extended to Heather Parker and Bindiya Patel of Actons Solicitors for their significant contribution to bringing the festival to life. Originally sparked as an idea by Bindiya last year, the Future Proof Festival has evolved into a standout event in the NLS calendar — a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation within our community.

Given the success of this inaugural event, plans are already underway to build on its momentum, with the intention of making the Future Proof Festival an annual fixture.

Nottinghamshire Law Society would like to thank everyone involved — our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and delegates — for making the day such a success.
