On Friday, 11th April, the East Midlands Conference Centre hosted an unforgettable evening, where we welcomed over 400 guests to celebrate with awards and a festival of life. President Lauren Crow and Head of Operations Michelle Foster warmly greeted attendees, while TNT Steel Band performed light summer tunes to set the perfect mood.
The evening kicked off with the President's Drinks Reception, generously sponsored by Review Solicitors. Guests were then guided into the grand banquet hall by captivating Bollywood dancers, walking down the golden carpet into a stunningly decorated space, courtesy of MHA and Austin Moore & Partners. Conference Works once again delivered outstanding audio, visual effects, and sound, elevating the night’s ambiance. The East Midlands Conference Centre impressed us all with their exceptional venue, delicious cuisine, and impeccable service.
Special thanks go to Create Inc for their innovative event designs featured in invitations and table booklets, as well as Print Co for expertly handling all print materials. Finally, we must extend our gratitude to our patron sponsors, Severn Trent Water Searches and Marsh Speciality, for their continued support to the Nottinghamshire Law Society.
The evening had two main objectives: firstly, to recognize the winners of the prestigious law society award categories, and secondly, to raise significant funds for Nottingham’s charities, Harmless and The Tomorrow Project, chosen by President Lauren Crow. Before the charity presentation, Lauren and her skydiving team were clapped in after watching the video of their brave fundraising challenge. CEO Caroline Harroe and Charity Ambassador Debbi Marlow represented these sister charities, highlighting their vital support for individuals struggling with self-harm and suicide in Nottinghamshire.
The evening's closing entertainment brought the festivities to a vibrant conclusion with special guest appearances from The Baroness and Annette Curtain, followed by a packed dancefloor, courtesy of The Big Bopper!
Following on from shortlisting the nominations for the 2025 awards, we once again announced nominations before sharing the worthy winner's name. The sense of excitement and support in the room for all those nominated in the various categories was overwhelming—the atmosphere was truly electric!
President Lauren Crow hosted the main awards alongside co-presenters from the judging panel: Stephen Luke (Past President), Marie Dancer (Vice President), Drew Dennis (Deputy Vice President), Shannon Mould (NJLD Chair) and Rachel Maxwell (Derby & District Law Society Deputy Vice President). The co-presenters were joined by representatives from the awards sponsors, including Leanne Summers (KCH Garden Square), Jayne Adams KC (Ropewalk Chambers), Phil Gibbs (1 High Pavement), Harriet Pearce (The University of Law), George Watson (The Access Group), Kassra Powles (Browne Jacobson), Helen Webster (Gateley Legal), and Mark Wood (Eversheds-Sutherland). A heartfelt thank you goes to all our award sponsors for their invaluable contributions—it is very much appreciated.
The buzz on social media since Friday has been phenomenal. We have loved seeing your pictures, reading your comments, and receiving your votes of thanks to the Society for an incredible evening—it means so much to us.
