The ED&I Committee is excited to share the new Masterclass Series for members of the Society. This series will feature sessions covering a wide range of topics such as disability, mental health, allyship, neurodiversity, and more. The sessions will include both in-person events and online webinars.
The fourth session will be hosted by Laura Howard MSc and will focus on Neurodiversity Awareness in the field of law. Participants can expect an online webinar with a presentation by Laura followed by a Q&A session.
The Seminar
More is being discovered about neurodiversity, but common myths persist preventing workplaces from being fully inclusive. One reason may be that judgements still exist about alternative behaviour. We now understand that all humans have diversity in neurocognitive functions dispelling former assumptions about groups being lazy or uncooperative.
In this masterclass, we will explore some common terms and definitions concerning neurodiversity giving you greater confidence and understanding. We will investigate some of the likely difficulties neurodiverse groups face at work with relevant examples. You will leave with practical ways to support neurodiverse groups at work and yourself. This masterclass aims to raise awareness of common neurodiverse conditions and recognise that breadth of neurocognition in teams and organisations supports inclusive and performing workplaces and a better society.
Presenter: Laura Howard MSc
Laura Howard MSc is an organisational psychologist, executive coach and speaker best known for her work elevating organisations through women in leadership programmes. She had a twenty-year global career in the private and public sectors, including ten years as a senior leader. A former people leader, Laura’s expertise has been forged in real-world experience combined with evidence-based practices. Laura's passion is to make work work for everyone.
