Description

Paralegal with a view to a training contract

Mitchell Wilde is offering a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious new paralegal to join the team with a view to a training contract. The successful candidate will be working with a bias in commercial law and litigation. The start date for employment is negotiable.

We are a niche commercial practice, established almost twenty years ago, with an outstanding reputation in our areas of practice. We are located in Beeston with easy access to Nottingham City Centre via a short direct tram journey and within close proximity to the A52.

Most of our work is in the East Midlands with some clients further afield, including a growing number in London.

Our clients are predominantly owner-managed businesses, with most of our work being in dispute resolution, corporate/commercial law, commercial property and some in employment law. We also deal with will and trust disputes

As a paralegal at our firm, you could get a taster of all of this, or you could become more of a specialist in one area. To begin with, the successful candidate will be expected to, review and respond to legal queries, take notes in client meetings and assist with all other ad-hoc queries/research, before developing the skills to run their own matters for clients.

The candidate should be hard working, a quick learner with the ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative and have a proactive attitude towards work levels and ad-hoc queries.

Candidates are preferred to have a 2:1 in their Law Degree (or Commendation or above for GDL route). Candidates must also have or be predicted at least a Merit in the Legal Practice Course. It is advantageous for the successful candidate to have studied modules in Advanced Civil Litigation, Private Acquisitions or Advanced Commercial Law.

The salary for a paralegal is £19,500 and for a trainee is £21,000.

Applications (covering letter and CV) should be sent to Paul Mitchell via email: pm@mitchellwilde.com
