Risk Management & Supervision in Law Firms Webinar – Wednesday 16th September 2020

Passcode: d+V9D=KG

Law firms face an unprecedented challenge brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. With intermittent periods of local ‘lock-downs’ and social distancing likely to continue into next year, legal businesses have no alternative than to innovate to ensure they meet their regulatory obligations while offering some remote working.

In this 90-minute webinar Pearl Moses, Richard Nelson and Marie Dancer discuss what supervision looks like from a distance and how to ‘future proof’ your firm with some people in the office and some working from home. What will this look like going forward and how can managers, COLPs and supervisors manage it?

This three-part webinar will cover:

1.

A review of the SRA obligations for supervision (the ‘science’ bit);

2.

A discussion between Pearl, Richard and Marie on how firms should handle the return to work and the risks of remote supervision including:

  • managing workloads
  • supervising trainees
  • supporting staff
  • file reviews (paper and digital)
  • handling complaints
  • reporting breaches
3.

Questions from attendees
