Sunrises & sunsets what a great February - now to mad March!

Sunrises & sunsets have covered Nottinghamshire’s countryside and city landscape this February, giving us all a warm glow with surprising temperatures – if only we in the office could experience them!

It’s been a mad, mad February where the weather has been concerned, but we can certainly agree here at the Hub it is a mad, mad March!

The new bulletin was exceptionally well received by our members, with over 433 opens to articles within the first day of pressing ‘GO’!

We hope you like the simplified design of the bulletin, which allows you to read what is relevant, with just a simple scroll down and a click to the full event or article information!

We would encourage you to click on as this is where you will find out what is happening in YOUR local law society quickly!

As charity quizzes go, this year’s Annual John Pearce Quiz has gone not just mad but into complete overdrive, with competitors and teams.  Over 190 competitors filed into Head of Steam on Monday evening, competing in 40 plus teams.  The heat was certainly on for the Quiz Masters, Old Nottinghamians’ Society, led by Philip Turton, our very own Deputy Vice President and current President of the Old Nottinghamians’ Society.

There was a little extra fun in the evening, with the 'Heads & Tails' game, plus a charity raffle, with fabulous prizes!

This week we have the Private Client Committee hosting their first full-house seminar, with guest speaker Helen King from the Department of Work & Pensions as well as new sponsors to the Society, Currency Index.

Followed swiftly a seminar by Oosha Ltd and East Midlands Police Special Operations Unit, Ian Hickling discussing cyber security and the threat to our local law firms.

Then of course, we get the return of our wonderful PSC Core trainees as they finish their first set of sessions with FRESH.

Both the PSC Core groups have been a delight to have in the Hub, and we look forward to seeing them again later this spring for their Elective training.

Now all that is left is the final countdown and preparations, as the Annual Awards Dinner draws ever close on Friday 5th April – hope to see many of you there!

Best wishes,
