Equality & Diversity Covid-19 Message to Nottinghamshire Law Society Members - April 2020

Written By: Equality & Diversity Committee
Edition: May 2020

As we find ourselves in another 3 weeks of lockdown the Nottingham Law Society’s Equality and Diversity Committee wanted to reach out in this unprecedented time.

The current situation has the potential to have a devastating effect on mental health. All over the country people are at risk of losing their jobs or certainty about their career. There are many of us who have lost loved ones and have been unable to be at their bedside. Members of the LGBTQ+ Community may be trapped with people who do not accept who they are. Some may be living in emotionally or physically abusive homes and most of us will be more cut off from our traditional lines of support.

Well despite the lockdown, you are not alone, this is a time to look out for one another and no one should ever be afraid to reach out for support and say ‘I am not ok.’

As such we have complied a list of useful resources for you below should you need support, or even if you just need help winding down from this stressful situation.
