It’s that time of year, when we get all festive - Christmas cards to write, offices to decorate with tinsel and dancing snowmen on your desks!

It’s also the time we look back at 2019 and reflect on all we have achieved as a Society.

We have held successful networking lunches across Nottinghamshire, and commenced a working partnership with the Coal Authority, one that will grow and offer different aspects of training and learning for our members.

We have also launched a Higher Rights of Audience course in Civil and Criminal law, in conjunction with Nottingham Law School.

We have seen two PSC Core skills groups here at the Hub. The last group finished their first part of the training at the end of November. The group consisted of trainees from Rothera Sharp, Boots, French & Co, Kirkland & Lane, Potter Clarkson, Gregsons Solicitors, Nottingham City Council, Tallents Solicitors, Timms Solicitors and Bhatia Best. The group was aptly named the sunshine group as they radiated smiles, laughed and only used the yellow mugs!

Last week began with our Christmas drinks reception at The Alchemist, prosecco corks popped, fizz poured and the bar soon filled with members full of jovial Christmas spirit.

Finally, the week ended with the annual reunion of past Presidents' of the Society. This is a special lunch, when some key members of the Society sit round the table in the Long Room at Trent Bridge, share stories of the past, and hear what the future holds.

This picture was taken at the end of the lunch, I love it!

Kathryn, Laura and Jason have been my first three President's to look after since I began working here at the Nottinghamshire Law Society - it has been great working with them, making their ideas and event dreams come true!

January 2020, will see me launch Jason's Annual Awards Dinner and I know that is going to be another fantastic evening.  There is already a save the date note in your bulletin - if you haven't seen it, the dinner will be on Friday 3rd April 2020.

All that remains for me to say, is "have yourself a Merry Christmas" and I will see you in 2020....

Best wishes,
