On Thursday 6th February, the Lace Market Hotel, High Pavement opened its doors to Nottinghamshire Law Society and MALA at our very first equality and diversity networking evening, with distinguished guest speakers District Judge Sunita Mason CBE and District Judge Fayyaz Afzel OBE.

The evening welcomed guests from across the legal profession of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, as well as special appearances by Rt. Hon. Mr Justice Keehan and Rt. Hon. Mr Justice Knowles CBE.

Guests were greeted with a welcome from Nottinghamshire Law Society President, Jason Waghorne followed by greetings from Sundeep Soor, as representative from MALA.  Both District Judge Sunita Mason CBE and District Judge Fayyaz Afzal OBE welcomed guests to their first of many joint events with MALA  and shared their experiences of how they had embarked on their careers in the law profession.

The Rt. Hon. Mr Justice Keehan, thanked both MALA and Nottinghamshire Law Society for their hard work in promoting equality and diversity and for being a pro-active local law society.  The Lace Market Hotel ensured guests were served with canapés  and prosecco on arrival.  Thank you for their kind hospitality.
