Hammond  Cup Final 2019

Thursday 11th April, saw the 51st Hammond Cup Final, held at Nottingham Law School and organised by Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Division and Nottinghamshire Law Society.

Judging the finalists, NJLD had acquired the mighty three – HHJ Steven Coupland, John Lymbury and Simon Massarella JP, Chairman of the Nottingham Justices.  There were also character witnesses portrayed by various senior Solicitors, Jim Buckley from VHS Fletchers and Barrister, Lisa Hardy from 1 High Pavement

The finalists were Alexis Mercer and Frank Sheeran from Bhatia Best, along with Callum Church from 1 High Pavement and Sarah Murray from Fraser Brown.

The competition was also attend by Michael Hammond's family, son and daughter Sarah and Ralph along with grand-children.  All fully enjoyed the competition and thrilled to see that the Hammond Cup, established 51 years ago by their father, was still an important competition within the Nottinghamshire Law Society and NJLD calendar.

After the defence and prosecution of the two cases, the winners were announced:

First Place Sarah Murray, Fraser Brown
Second Place Alexis Mercer, Bhatia Best
Third Place Frank Sheeran, Bhatia Best
Fourth Place Callum Church, 1 High Pavement
