What We Do
The Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Division (NJLD) is a new and exciting group was launched in October 2008 and replaces Nottinghamshire Trainee Solicitors Group and Nottinghamshire Young Solicitors Group.
The NJLD represents the interests of recently qualified solicitors, trainees, paralegals and LPC students on the Local Law Society, the National Junior Lawyers Division and throughout the local business community.
We aim to provide a social, networking and supportive roll for all young lawyers in the region. The NJLD helps to promote our city as a vibrant legal centre, offering a good quality of life for local lawyers, and will help the city’s young lawyers to cross network to other firms by promoting their own firm’s brand values.
To find out what the JLD have been up to and what events they have planned, please take a look at our latest newsletter (Download Newsletter here)

• The Hammond Cup (an advocacy competition for trainees)
• Seminars and careers advice

• Judges shadowing Scheme in County Court and Employment Tribunal
• Work experience in Karlsrushe (Germany) or Ghent (Belgium)
• Sporting events
Many of our events run with other local groups, including the RICS Matrics (surveyors) and NCASS (accountants), in order to create stronger relationships and networking opportunities with other professionals during our career development.
Law Society Links
We also work closely with Nottinghamshire Law Society and often negotiate discounted rates for their events for our members.
